Fraud Awareness Statement
Due to rapid advances in technology and artificial intelligence, fraud and scams are becoming ever more prevalent. In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, financial opportunities come with increasing risks. At Blackvane, our mission isn’t just to help you achieve your goals, but also to ensure that you are protected. We view fraud awareness as an essential part of sound financial planning. By staying vigilant together, we can safeguard your assets and secure your future growth.
Quick Tips: How to Spot & Avoid Fraud:
The Golden Rule of Calls: If someone calls claiming to be from a financial institution and asking for personal details (PINs, passwords), HANG UP. Real institutions will never ask for these sensitive credentials over the phone.
Hover Before You Click: Before clicking any link in an email, hover your mouse cursor over it. Does the previewed URL match where you expect to go? If not, immediately flag the email for review by your IT department.
MFA is Non-Negotiable: Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) wherever possible, especially for banking and investment accounts. It’s the single easiest security upgrade with the biggest impact.
Keep Your Info Private: Be wary of Wi-Fi hotspots in public places. If you must conduct sensitive business, use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) from a trustworthy provider.
